Chicago Park Districts - 2016 Lead Testing Results -Percent of Fountains in Park Over EPA Action Level
In October of 2016, the Chicago Park District released the results of lead testing for every drinking fountain and kitchen sink in Chicago's 480 parks. They found that 43 percent of Chicago parks had at least one water source with higher-than-allowed lead levels (15 parts per billion). This map shows the percent of drinking fountains in each park that tested over the 15ppb federal action level.
